Jen + Nick | Desert Botanical Engagement

Being able to capture our beautiful desert is becoming my signature style and I can’t tell you how much I love that. It shouldn’t be a surprise that I love the desert and the colors if produces. It’s always a treat when your clients feel the same way. Jen and Nick wanted to have the Desert Botanical to be their backdrop and it is always fun shooting here. If you have never just walked the grounds of this beautiful reserve, I definitely suggest it. During their session it started off a little cloudy but luckily towards the end of their session the sun gave us some kisses and it was stunning in their photographs.

For the photographers or photography lovers out there.. I was also able to shoot some expired black and white film in this engagement session. My grandfather, who was a photographer another lifetime ago recently gifted me with some amazing film stocks that are expired. Little tip for photographers, if you are ever given film that is expired, make sure you keep it in the freezer. Fortunately this Pan-X film was kept in a freezer since the late 1980s. Very fortunate to be able to give my clients some rare captures with this. At the time we had no idea if they would turn out, but my lab is amazing and we were able to get some great shots for Jen and Nick!
