My favorite thing about spring weddings in Arizona is the colors! I love bright and pops of color and this wedding that I captured for Christina and Anthony was no exception. I knew that I wanted their greens,  rose and champagne colors to sparkle so I chose for all portra film. I love how greens look on film and portra (in my opinion) is the best at showing this.

I met Christina a few years ago when she worked at another country club as a wedding planner. Still a wedding planner, yet at a different location; we have remained friends and industry acquaintances. I knew because of Christina’s background that her wedding would be spectacular. Being everything and more, I am so excited to have been there to capture such an important day for her and Anthony. Nothing was forgotten and the details were simply incredible. Here are some of my absolute favorite images. Congrats Christina and Anthony! I am so excited for you both.

Often Bride’s will invite me to their bridal showers. I love it because I really get the chance to mingle with her friends and the moms. It is such a great opportunity to get to know the people who I will be capturing! I’m actually very good friend’s with Megan. We’ve known each other since jr. college and so I was so excited to get to go to her shower during such a busy season. I surprised her and brought my camera. I can not wait for her gorgeous wedding in Sedona, Arizona next month!

Most people don’t remember the first time they’ve had a professional picture taken of themselves. Some do and some can only remember their one and only time; senior portraits. Remember those? Mine were taken in a small studio in Mesa, Arizona at the ripe old age of 17. For most that I meet. That is the only time they have ever had pictures taken by a professional photographer. My job as your wedding photographer is to not make your engagement or wedding photo’s be as awkward as they were for my senior photos. My parents have printed a picture of myself with my fingers on a pretend back light window ‘looking out at my long lost love’. Oh the life before digital photography. Jokes aside. My life goal is to make you laugh, make you give GENUINE smiles and actually look happy. I don’t make you do silly poses or if I do put you in a pose, force it. If its not working for you, we change it up and do some cartwheels! Honestly. My life is to make you look like yourself.

Below you will find two amazing people who, even though quiet, were amazing in front of my camera. Because I shoot film, every photo counts. Even when they thought they didn’t get it right, they nailed it right on the head. They were spectacular and their love, light and personality shined through. I am so excited to introduce you to two love birds getting married this year. Two experts who deserve to be in front of the camera. <3

The countryside of Patagonia is absolutely stunning. Nothing really comes to words with discovering this small area of Arizona. A hidden gem to most, and a paradise to few. For Ericca and Joseph, going back to a place where family is from to share the beginning of their engagement, was incredible. If you like wine, soft breeze and beautiful scenery, this is the place for you! This backdrop was the perfect setting for these two soon to be wed love birds. Thank you for allowing me to capture such a gorgeous and romantic engagement session for you two. I can not wait to capture your wedding day!

Earlier this month I traveled to Hawaii to capture several shoots on the island of Oahu. Having never traveled there previously I was really anxious and excited to be able to hike and discover amazing locations. The clients that booked me were so knowledgable and helpful that my week on the island will be something I will never forget. Because my trip was such a success I am excited to say I will be able to go back this June. Traveling the nation is an incredible job and being able to take pictures of beautiful people in gorgeous locations is a very humbling experience. The first shoot that I had was Paisley and Bryan’s save the date/engagement session. Paisely arrived in this gorgeous dress and custom made flower crown and Bryan in a relaxed fit of jeans and button up. Not only did they dress perfectly, but these two were stunning! Fortunately they were given permission to shoot at the very secluded Kualoa Ranch in Kaneohe, Oahu. Kualoa Ranch also happens to be a wedding venue so if you are looking for a unique (tucked away) wedding venue, I highly recommend it.

Morgan and Colin’s blush and lavender infused wedding at the gorgeous Farm at South Mountain was everything a farm style wedding could be. There were beautiful details, gorgeous blooming flowers, a slight breeze and one happy bride and groom. Their day could not have been more perfect. The gorgeous dress Morgan wore fit her perfectly and I absolutely adored their first look. One of my favorite things about wedding photography is being able to truly capture the beauty of a couple on their wedding day. The love these two have for one another and how they fell into each other’s arms made my job that much easier. Morgan and Colin’s will forever be one of my favorites. Congratulations you two! I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Elizabeth and Andrés won a contest that myself and the coordinators over at Wrigleyville West created. Their prize was an engagement session with myself. They wanted something more rustic and something that would show the beautiful Arizona desert. We chose the gorgeous superstition mountains. If you have not been out to the Lost Dutchman State Park, I highly recommend it. The hikes are amazing and the views spectacular. The colors the sun brings when it touches the mountains there in incredible. I may be biased, being raised in Arizona, but Arizona sunsets are one in a million.

Earlier this month I collaborated with some incredible wedding vendors in the valley. We wanted to share off how gorgeous Venue at the Grove is but also what slight pops of yellows, purples and green can bring to the wedding venue. Green is hard to come by in Arizona and finding a venue that can provide that is so exciting! I am in love of the garden feel and the infused lavender. It is one of my favorite colors and truly reminds me of a wedding that could be in the english countryside. Huge thanks to all of the amazing vendors for their beautiful inspiration!

Last year I had the pleasure of photographing an amazing private wedding in Scottsdale. In the last couple years I’m noticing a lot more people choosing Airbnb for their smaller weddings and I love the idea. This insanely gorgeous home had a perfect back yard for events. Kim and Aaron picked a beautiful setting for their spring wedding. With spring upon us I wanted to share their beautiful diy decor and the spectacular backdrop. Congrats you two!
