Samantha + Eddie | Prescott Wedding

Often times when I meet a couple it may take them a little bit to warm up to me and relax. I think it's that feeling of anticipation and anxiousness that comes with having someone photograph you for the first time. To warm up my clients I like to tell jokes, make fun of myself and ask about themselves. It's a technique I've used for several years.

When people look at my photographs, I want them to feel the love, laughter and overall happiness that comes with wedding photography. My goal with every client is to capture the essence of that person. In a sense, I'm telling a story with my pictures and when I see a portrait for example, I want to show to the world who that person is. I think that's why I love candid moments so much. We are only truly ourselves when we aren't being asked to pose in a certain way.

I think this wedding truly represented my wedding style because I was given the chance to capture this wedding the way I felt it needed to be captured. Samantha and Eddie are cool in that way because they just let me create, and I think that is the best thing you can ever ask of your photographer. I was given 'free-range' to capture their love, their laughter and their emotional beautiful moments.

I will forever remember this beautiful day and I hope below you will get a sneak peak into just how amazing their day was.

Kelly + Kyle | Oahu, Hawaii Wedding

Traveling to beautiful locations to photograph weddings is something I never thought I'd be doing. When I started on my photo journey in 2009, I just wanted to photograph local weddings and see where it took me. Almost ten years later and this journey has been the highlight of my life. Capturing the most important memories in a couples life is something I will forever treasure. The best honor you can give a photographer is to hire them and I'm so honored to get to do this for a living.

Kyle and Kelly found me on instagram and from the first conversation I had with Kelly, I knew that we would continue to be friends well after her wedding was over. I'm sad I don't live in Oahu because Kelly is such a sweetheart and such a kind and amazing soul.

Below you will see all the incredible emotional and happy moments from their day. The four seasons resort was the perfect fit for her wedding and her wedding planner Kim did a spectacular job! Congrats Kelly and Kyle!! Can we do it again? 🙂

Hailey + Samuel Flagstaff Wedding | Arizona Film Wedding Photographer

Summer wedding love today! I love this small and quite unique venue in Flagstaff. It’s owned by the Flagstaff Museum and it is my 2nd time photographing a wedding there. It is the perfect location for a June or July wedding because the weather is beautiful up north and not hot at all. If I do photograph a wedding in the summer in Arizona, it is usually up north and I’m very happy about that! Hailey and Sam hired me last spring and it was perfect! They are both so gentle and kind people and I feel like these photographs show how amazing they are. Their wedding was so laid back and relaxing. Check out these two love birds and their gorgeous mountain wedding.

Grayhawk Golf Club Wedding | Alex + Kyle

I have been holding onto sharing this wedding since June. The colors and tones just scream fall to me and I really wanted to start off my fall season sharing the gorgeousness that was Kyle and Alex’s wedding. These two amazing people are some of the most low key couples I’ve had in a long time. They are incredibly kind and I just wanted to squeeze them all day. When Kyle saw Alex walking up to him during their first look, I just wanted to stop time. His eyes lit up and the tears streamed down his face, which then created happy laughter. I want all first looks to be this way for the rest of my career. I am getting chills just remembering it.

In addition to just loving them for being cool humans, they also brought their baby girl golden. I’m a sucker for golden retrievers. If you follow my instagram, you will know that I have a boy version. Our fur babies are almost a month apart. You have to see how cute these photos were. I was sad to see her leave before the reception but I am so glad we were able to get some family photos of them before she left.

The best part about working in the Phoenix wedding market is the vendor relationships that are created. I’ve know Bernadette (Alex and Kyle’s wedding planner) for little over three years. We met right as I was switching back into film and I knew instantly I had to refer her for this gorgeous day. I was so pumped when they picked my dear friend for this wedding and for all the additional vendor friends that helped create an incredible day for them. Coming together to watch two amazing people get married is such a special thing and to witness everyone’s art unfold was a magical experience.

Thank you so much Alex and Kyle for letting not only myself but all of us watch your love story!

The Cabins at Strawberry Hill Wedding | April + Danny

The beauty of photographing weddings is that each one is unique. Every wedding not only has a blend of different details and location but the people are what create that uniqueness. When I capture a small wedding like April and Danny’s I am given so many different opportunities to capture things I can’t capture at a big wedding. The biggest being, I can truly spend time on the guests and the family. I love this about small weddings because I get to give these people not only some great portraits of them and possibly their families, but I get to learn about the person in front of the camera. I’m also able to sit back and wait for those important shots that happen in an instinct. I laugh, cry and just smile because there are so many beautiful moments happening all around.

One of the most beautiful takeaways from April and Danny’s day was that prior to their wedding, I did not know their history. Once I got to their ceremony, I noticed their welcome table. Turns out, April and Danny met in kindergarten. Now how romantic is that?! Makes you really believe in true love!

Thank you April and Danny for letting me capture your love story and your gorgeous wedding day! Take a look at their beautiful wedding I shot in Strawberry, Arizona.

Boho Themed Wedding at Desert Botanical Gardens | Kelsey + Sam

If there are pops of color, flower crowns, cactus and Jimmy Choo wedding shoes, then you know that THAT is my kind of wedding. Below you will find one of my favorite weddings this past spring.

Arizona is known for destination weddings. Lately I’ve been photographing a lot more bride and grooms that are visiting and planning their weddings in our beautiful state. Kelsey and Sam live in the windy city of Chicago; one of my all time favorite places! Go Cubs! They are lovers of cactus and mountains and if you know me, you will know I LOVE these types of weddings.  Kelsey and Sam hired local wedding planner Bloom & Blueprint, whom I have worked with several times in the last year.  I love fun, colorful weddings and even better having a wedding ceremony and reception that is both outdoors. If you like lots of color, beautiful people and boho make sure to check out their gorgeous Desert Botanical Garden Wedding!

Planner & Florist: Bloom & Blueprint | Getting Ready Venue: Hotel Valley Ho | Venue: Desert Botanical Garden | Dress: Alexander Grecco at Lovely Bride in Chicago | Hair + Makeup: Allison Martin at The Beauty Bar | Rentals: Dang Fine Rentals | Cake: A Bake Shop | Band: Lucky Devils Band

It’s not often I get called in for a maternity boudoir session but after I got these scans back I may be interested in doing many many more of them. It didn’t hurt that Sara is so incredibly gorgeous! I am so happy for this past bride and now new momma.
